Mulvey

At the end of the film, I left confused and dissatisfied as well as entertained with questions and pondering what I had just seen to understand what happened. After reading Mulvey, I realize that that is how Citizen Kane was suppose to effect me. Mulvey was able to explain to me that the spectators do not find satisfaction on what is shown on the screen but by the “characters’ transcendent understanding.” The film was created to leave me with questions as well as wanting to re-watch it in order to find the clues through out it that explains and hints to the meaning of “rosebud.”  To continue with not being overt, Citizen Kane wants the spectators to interpret the images to push the audiences imagination and interpretation.
