Although I found Kristin Thompson's article on Neoformalist Film Analysis to be rather dense and difficult to follow, I also found that it was filled with many interesting concepts and approaches. Neoformalism, which focuses on the aesthetics of a film, is an interesting idea, as it is not commonly used among film theorist, yet Thompson strongly advocates for it. I agree with Thompson's argument for Neoformalism, as I feel that every film has its own artistic value to it that can be related to many other factors and elements aside from aesthetics that are very important to the film and it's significance. Despite having a hard time understanding all parts of Thompson's article, I did understand and appreciate many of her points.
